Un devastador accidente en la carretera federal Chetumal, Quintana Roo- Escárcega, Campeche ha dejado un saldo de seis personas fallecidas, entre ellas una niña de tres años, y 23 heridos, varios de ellos en estado crítico.
El suceso tuvo lugar alrededor de las 05:30 horas del lunes 20 de noviembre de 2023, cuando un autobús proveniente de Chiapas, perteneciente a la empresa Transporte Turística Maya y con destino a Playa del Carmen, colisionó violentamente contra un camión de volteo.
La magnitud del accidente ha dejado consternada a la región.
La Fiscalía General del Estado de Quintana Roo ha anunciado la apertura de una carpeta de investigación para esclarecer los hechos de este trágico suceso.
En el lugar de los acontecimientos, peritos especializados trabajan arduamente en el levantamiento de indicios que arrojen luz sobre las circunstancias de este lamentable incidente.
De manera preliminar, se ha confirmado el deceso de seis personas, incluyendo el fallecimiento de una pequeña de tres años de edad. Los cuerpos de las víctimas mortales ya han sido trasladados al Servicio Médico Forense del municipio de Othón P. Blanco para los procedimientos legales correspondientes.
Las 23 personas que resultaron heridas están siendo atendidas por personal médico en el hospital del ISSSTE y hospital general de Chetumal.
El accidente en la carretera federal ocurrió en la región entre las localidades de Nicolás Bravo y Escárcega donde se construye el tramo 7 del Tren Maya.
Según algunas versiones de los testigos, el camión de volteo se incorporó de manera repentina sobre la carretera federal, provocando el choque.
